/ CMD / Eco Task Light

Premium office product manufacturer, CMD, approached AME with the requirement for a desk lamp to complement their existing range of on-desk accessories.

Being an entirely new product offering in CMD’s range, the requirement was to develop a fully ergonomic light that would echo the values of their existing products. AME developed the Task Light to reflect the same clean lines and ease of movement as CMD’s successful flat screen monitor arm. The use of environmentally friendly aluminium profiles were able to give the appearance of a premium lamp whilst being economic to produce.

The light was designed to be counter balanced enabling it to be positioned where needed with a simple one touch hand operation. The long reach and flexibility of positioning ensured the light was suitable for all desk situations, whilst the cool running eco light source ensured the lamp was cool to touch.

The project was the result of an on-going collaboration between AME and CMD to develop an extensive range of products within their portfolio. The scope of the project not only involved an analysis of current market trends but also the generation of a range of prototype designs to ensure the ergonomics and aesthetics of the product met the specific requirements.
