/ 5/7/2021 A new dawn for AME Group

Mercia and AME Group management team outside Momentum House

We at AME Group are proud to announce the start of a new chapter for our company.

NPIF – Mercia Equity Finance are investing £750,000 into our business, which will empower us to make some big changes that will benefit our existing customers and delight new customers too.

The funding from NPIF - Mercia Equity Finance, which is managed by Mercia and part of the Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund, will support further development, which will include hiring new staff and investing in new equipment. To have secured this investment is very exciting for the AME Group team, and is a testament to the hard work every team member has put in.

Founder and now Finance Director of AME Group, Ian Jones, says:

“New technologies such as 3D printing have opened up new possibilities in product development and testing. As a result, the rapid prototyping market is expanding year on year.

This new funding enables our team to support UK businesses with longer-term growth and with their post-Covid bounce-back plans.”

Maurice Disasi of Mercia added:

“AME has performed strongly since its inception and established itself as one of the leaders in its field.

As the company embarks on a new period of growth, this funding will enable it to take advantage of the exciting opportunities in the rapid prototyping market, widen its customer base and develop its own branded products.”

Sean Hutchinson of British Business Bank said:

“AME is a growing Northern business working with a strong portfolio of respected brands across a range of sectors. NPIF is proud to play a part in helping businesses like AME reach the next stage in their growth journey.

By investing in ambitious successful companies, we are helping to create new jobs, safeguard others and support regional economic growth allowing business communities to fulfill their potential.”

The Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund project is supported financially by the European Union using funding from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) as part of the European Structural and Investment Funds Growth Programme 2014-2020 and the European Investment Bank.

AME Group was founded in 1996 and has been at the heart of Sheffield’s manufacturing industry ever since.

It’s been a rollercoaster ride, even before Covid-19 changed how our company and our customers work. Nevertheless, the team has persevered, and our senior management team couldn’t be prouder.

We’ll be making several announcements of the upcoming changes throughout 2021. Stay tuned to not miss out on how you will benefit from the next chapter in our company’s journey.
